Markie Post

Markie Post grew up in Walnut Creek, California and began her career in film and TV shows like Card Sharks (1978) and "The New Card Sharks" (1986) and then went on to make such shows as Double Dare (1976) and has made appearances on such programs on television like 1st to Die (2003), E! True Hollywood Story (1996), Electra Woman (2001) and Dyna Girl (2001). She is perhaps most famous for her performance in "Christine Sullivan" who was the Night Court star (1984). From 1984 to 1992 , she played in 156 episodes. Daughter of Marylee (Armstrong) Post, poet, and noted nuclear physical scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7 15th, 2015). Alongside her second husband Michael A. Ross, she had two children: Katie Ross (born June 26 1986) and Daisy Ross (30 March 1990). Born in Palo Alto, California and was raised in Walnut Creek. She was an athlete at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, California. She received her Bachelor of Arts at Lewis & Clark College, Portland Oregon. She was part of the trick roping team in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). She was cremated and her cremated remains returned to her husband Michael A. Ross. She was a long-time Democrat. Markie Post, who was three months removed from her 71st birthday date on the 4th of November, 2021, died on August 7. She passed away just 27 days after fellow Night Court (1984) co-star Charles Robinson, who passed away on July 11, 2021. Even though the shows were not related, Night Court (1984) was the final show to end with Christine Sullivan's character moving to Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992) was the first show to introduce Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in Hearts Afire (1992), and later she moved into a smaller town following her work in Washington DC.
