Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born September 5, 1973) is an American actress and
activist. After her film debut in a short role in the comedy Encino Man (1992),
McGowan was recognized for her performance in the dark comedy The Doom
Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for
Best Debut Performance. She had her breakthrough in the horror film Scream
(1996) which later featured in the films Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the
Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). McGowan's character as Paige Matthews on
the WB supernatural drama Charmed (2001-2006) was the most well-known part of
her career. McGowan was also a mainstay in Quentin Tarantino and Robert
Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) which for which she received
nominations both for the Saturn Award as Best Actress as well as the Scream
Award as Best Scream Queen. The album she released her debut album on, Planet
9, was released in the year 2018. It was followed by a repackaging of Planet 9
in 2020. In 2017, Time named McGowan one of the Silence Breakers, the
magazine's Person of the Year because she spoke out about sexual harassment and
assault specifically with regard to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases as
well as the Me Too movement. McGowan has published an autobiography, Brave, and
starred in the documentary series Citizen Rose, which consists of four parts.
